HITECH Compliance Technology Tools Protects Insurance Brokers

Ladera Ranch, CA — July 07, 2010 — Access Smart, LLC launched a new product suite developed for insurance brokers who need to protect and secure computers and computer-based information. The Power LogOn Privacy Suite integrates three security products into one kit to ensure that PHI (protected health information) is secured on computers.

The suite is designed to help insurance brokers qualify for the HITECH “safe harbor” requirement. A broker who experiences a breach of information can avoid the complicated and costly notice requirements, penalties and legal exposure that are part and parcel of the HITECH Act if they have implemented solutions to achieve the “safe harbor.”

The three products integrated into the kit include:

1. Power LogOn, a secure smartcard based solution to protect computer access and individual users with an easy to use secure password log-on manager.
2. SafeHouse, a data encryption application to secure electronic files stored on laptops and hard drives.
3. WordSecure, an encrypted email service by means of secure messaging to allow email messages and attachments to be sent privately and securely.
