Power LogOn adds Third-party Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Integration

Austin, TX 07/27/22:

Power LogOn® by Access Smart, LLC helps agencies, businesses, and organizations to easily manage potential cyber threats before the threat disrupts operations. Power LogOn is a true MFA, IT centralized password manager that is easily added to existing employee physical access control (PAC) credentials. SIEM solutions allow IT Administrators to collect real-time security monitoring and event data for analysis, from multiple sources, including logon and other telemetry-specific data. SIEM is a key element in cyber security compliance, auditing, and network intelligence.

Power LogOn manages over thirty-five different Common Event Format (CEF) events such as users logging on and off, administrators issuing, access denied, and revoking cards that are forwarded to 3rd-party RFC-adhering, SIEM systems in real-time. Event logs resulting from activities at Power LogOn client workstations or at the Power LogOn server, are generated and sent by the Power LogOn server to a SIEM system at a selected IP address and port.

Ethical Hacker Awards Power LogOn® 5 Cybersecurity Stars

Austin, TX 12/08/21:

Access Smart hired Secure Network Technologies, Inc. (SNT) to assess the security of our Power LogOn Government COA (Certificate-based Offline Authentication) application with a commercial PKI or government issued (CAC, PIV, CIV, etc.) smartcard without requiring any network connectivity at enrollment and user workstations.

“It is SNT’s conclusion that the Power LogOn applications operate securely and introduce no vulnerabilities that could be exploited to bypass its security functions,” Robert Clary, Secure Network Technologies, Inc. “Power LogOn Government COA had a positive score of five out of five on all of the criteria. Even with our best efforts to hack using various approaches, Power LogOn did not display any weaknesses.”

Fixing Cybersecurity’s Weakest Link – Passwords (HexCon21 Presentation)

Austin, TX 09/23/21:

Passwords are secure. Wow, that is not a phrase you often hear in the cybersecurity world. But, it’s true. However, password management is not. Users and IT administrators are both culpable for hackers’ devastation to governments, corporations, critical infrastructure, and individuals.

Dovell Bonnett will discuss why passwords are secure, the misconception about password security, why passwords can’t be killed, or why we won’t go passwordless. Next, he’ll discuss how Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) can help or hinder authentication. Finally, the importance of the implementation of Password Authentication Infrastructure (PAI).

US Air Force protects their offline Windows computers with Power LogOn®

Austin, TX 04/08/21: Access Smart announces today that a USAF base is deploying the new Power LogOn Government Certificate-based Offline Authentication software for secure MFA certificate authentication for their offline computer systems.

There are many offline computer systems within the DoD. These systems can never be connected to any internet or network for security reasons. However, these same systems still require Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to validate authorized access.

A United States Air Force base contacted Access Smart asking if the Power LogOn MFA solution would allow their airmen and airwomen to use their existing CAC ID and digital certificates to log onto their 100% offline, Windows-based, systems. The answer: “Yes.”

Use Government Credential for Offline Authentication

Austin, TX 12/01/20: Today, Access Smart® is pleased to announce our latest product: Power LogOn® GOV-COA – Government Certificate-based Offline Authentication. Power LogOn GOV-COA allows offline (stand-alone) computers to implement Multi-Factor Authentication with Government credential, Digital Certificates, and PIN Authentication for secure login during Windows boot-up and application launch.

The management at Access Smart strives to be innovators and visionaries. We started in 2005 with Power LogOn combining multi-factor authentication with password management using contact smartcard technology. Next, we expanded Power LogOn to work with contactless credentials like employee access control badges. We have now developed Power LogOn to work with existing government-issued digital certificate credentials (PIV, CAC, CIV, TWIC and others) for offline computers.

“For high-security reasons, many government DoD branches and departments prohibit some computers from network or Internet connectivity,” said Dovell Bonnett, Founder and CEO of Access Smart. “However, these same agencies still require MFA + digital certificate + password login authentication into Windows and applications. We are pleased to offer our customers a secure offline solution that meets their security needs.”

Power LogOn GOV-COA requires no modifications to an existing CAC, PIV, PIV-I, CIV, or TWIC credential, making Power LogOn GOV-COA FIPS 201 compliant. InfoGard verified Power LogOn to FIPS 140-2.

Finally, secure computer logoff is equally as crucial as secure login. Something that no smartphone authenticator, email, or SMS login service can offer. Like all Power LogOn solutions, Power LogOn GOV-COA allows the user to securely logoff the computer when the smartcard is removed to prevent unauthorized access. Power LogOn GOV-COA follows the guidelines of FIPS 140-2, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-63B, NIST 800-171, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and cybersecurity’s industry best practices.

Check out our website and schedule an appointment to learn more about Power LogOn GOV-COA and all of our other MFA solutions.
